What Is Donor Sperm Treatment?

Donor Sperm treatment is a fertility procedure where sperm from a healthy, medically screened donor is used to help a couple achieve pregnancy. At Fertibless Clinic, donor sperm is used in two ways — through IUI (Intrauterine Insemination) or IVF (In Vitro Fertilization) — depending on each patient’s medical condition, age, and fertility assessment.

We do not maintain a sperm bank or collect sperm donations at our clinic. All donor sperm is sourced from certified, government-licensed sperm banks in full compliance with the Indian ART Act, 2021. Every donor has undergone rigorous screening for health, genetics, infectious diseases, and psychological fitness before their sample is approved for use.

Dr. Shipra Gupta ensures a smooth, medically sound, and emotionally supportive experience for every couple who walks through our doors.

Who Can Benefit from Donor Sperm Treatment?

Donor Sperm treatment at Fertibless may be recommended for couples where:

The male partner has azoospermia (no sperm production)

Surgical sperm retrieval (TESA / Micro-TESE) has been unsuccessful

There is severe sperm motility or morphology issues

The male partner carries a genetic condition that could be passed to the child

There have been repeated IVF failures due to poor sperm quality

The male partner has a history of certain infections or medical treatments affecting fertility

If any of these conditions apply to you, Dr. Shipra Gupta will evaluate your complete fertility profile and recommend whether IUI or IVF with donor sperm is the most suitable path forward.

Treatment Options at Fertibless

Dr. Shipra Gupta recommends the most appropriate treatment based on your individual fertility profile.

IUI with Donor Sperm

Intrauterine Insemination (IUI) with donor sperm is a simpler, less invasive procedure. Prepared donor sperm is placed directly into the uterus around the time of ovulation. It is typically recommended when the female partner has no major fertility issues and a less intensive approach is appropriate.

IVF with Donor Sperm

In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) with donor sperm involves fertilizing the female partner’s eggs in a laboratory setting using donor sperm. The resulting embryo is then transferred to the uterus. IVF is recommended when IUI has not been successful, when female fertility factors are also involved, or when higher success rates are needed.

Dr. Shipra Gupta will conduct a thorough evaluation before recommending which procedure is right for you.

How We Source Donor Sperm

Fertibless Clinic does not collect, store, or bank sperm donations. We partner with licensed, government-approved sperm banks that operate under the ART Act, 2021.

Every donor in these banks has been screened for:

  • Age and general health (donors aged 21–45 years)
  • Semen quality — count, motility, and morphology
  • Genetic disorders and hereditary conditions
  • Infectious diseases including HIV and Hepatitis B/C
  • Psychological stability and informed consent
  • Lifestyle factors including substance use

Donor identities remain fully confidential as required by Indian law. Couples may be provided with a non-identifying donor profile to help with selection.

Our Approach at Fertibless

Our donor sperm program is built on two pillars:

No two patients are the same. Dr. Shipra designs every treatment plan based on:

  • The female partner’s age and ovarian reserve
  • Uterine lining health and receptivity
  • Hormonal profile
  • Whether IUI or IVF is the appropriate procedure
  • Genetic risk minimization
  • Overall physical and emotional readiness
Ethical & Transparent Donor Selection

We work only with licensed sperm banks that follow strict ethical protocols. Couples are guided through the donor selection process with clarity and full respect for privacy.

Success Factors in Donor Sperm Treatment

Success depends on:

  • Female partner’s age
  • Uterine lining receptivity
  • Ovulation timing
  • Whether IUI or IVF is used
  • Lifestyle and hormonal balance

Donor sperm significantly improves success rates because it is selected from men with excellent semen parameters and genetic health

At Fertibless, Dr. Shipra uses personalized protocols and advanced monitoring to optimize these factors and improve your chances.

Does Fertibless Clinic accept sperm donations?

No. Fertibless is a fertility treatment clinic, not a sperm bank. We do not collect, store, or accept sperm donations. We source all donor sperm from licensed, government-approved sperm banks. If you are looking to donate sperm, please contact a registered sperm bank directly.

What is the difference between Donor Sperm IUI and Donor Sperm IVF?

IUI is a simpler procedure where prepared donor sperm is placed into the uterus near ovulation. IVF involves fertilizing the female partner’s eggs in a laboratory using donor sperm, then transferring the embryo into the uterus. IVF generally offers higher success rates per cycle, particularly for women over 35 or those with additional fertility factors. Dr. Shipra Gupta will recommend the right option based on your complete fertility assessment.

How is a sperm donor selected?

Donors are selected through a comprehensive screening process conducted by the licensed sperm bank, which includes age and health evaluation, semen quality analysis, genetic disorder testing, infectious disease screening, psychological evaluation, and lifestyle assessment. All donations are anonymous and compliant with the ART Act, 2021. A donor can contribute to a maximum of 25 successful pregnancies nationally.

Can I see the donor’s profile?

Yes. A non-identifying donor profile — including physical characteristics, educational background, and basic health information — is typically made available to help couples with selection. Donor identity remains fully confidential as per Indian law.

Are there any genetic risks with donor sperm?

All donors undergo thorough genetic screening for common hereditary conditions before their samples are approved. While no process eliminates all risk entirely, the rigorous screening protocols used by licensed sperm banks significantly reduce the likelihood of passing on genetic conditions. Our team will discuss any specific concerns with you before treatment begins.

How many samples of donor sperm are needed?

For IUI, one prepared vial is typically used per cycle. For IVF, one to two vials are usually sufficient depending on the number of eggs retrieved and the fertilization approach used. Dr. Shipra Gupta will advise you on exact requirements based on your individual cycle plan.

What are the success rates for sperm donor treatment?

Success rates depend on the procedure chosen, the female partner’s age, uterine health, and overall fertility profile. IUI with donor sperm typically offers success rates of 10–20% per cycle. IVF with donor sperm offers significantly higher rates, generally between 40–60% per cycle for women under 35. Dr. Shipra Gupta will give you a realistic expectation based on your personal assessment.

How many cycles might be needed?

Many couples achieve pregnancy within one to three cycles. Some may require more, depending on age and individual fertility factors. Dr. Shipra will guide you through a step-by-step plan, monitoring and adjusting your protocol at each stage to maximise your chances.

What does sperm donor treatment cost at Fertibless?

Cost depends on whether IUI or IVF is recommended, along with medications, monitoring, and donor sperm charges. IUI with donor sperm is significantly more affordable per cycle, while IVF involves a higher per-cycle investment but often fewer total cycles needed. For an accurate, personalised cost estimate, please call us at 9289936221 or book a consultation with Dr. Shipra Gupta.

What are the legal aspects of using donor sperm in India?

Under the ART Act, 2021, sperm donors have no parental rights or responsibilities over children conceived from their donation. All donations are anonymous, documented with full informed consent, and handled in strict compliance with Indian law. Fertibless ensures all legal and ethical requirements are met transparently throughout the process.
